Colorado Custom LASIK Vision Correction
Surgeon Laser Eye Surgery with CustomVue Wavefront LASIK in the
Denver & Boulder Metro Area
I do not claim that my LASIK outcomes
are always perfect, nor do I claim that my results are better than other Laser
Eye Surgeon's results. However, my staff and I are deeply committed to provide
you state-of-the-art Laser Vision Correction in an intelligent, kind and compassionate
environment. We do everything we can to maximize your chance of obtaining a successful
Laser Vision result. Over 98% of the patients that have received Laser Vision
Correction from me are satisfied with their result and the quality of care they
received from me and my staff. Once
again, welcome to my website. I would like to tell you about myself and my approach
to the practice of medicine. I graduated from the University of Colorado School
of Engineering in 1971, received my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree from the
University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1975, and completed my residency
training in Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Medical Center in 1979
and was then Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1980. I
opened my practice in Ophthalmology in Denver in 1979. My practice philosophy
was, and is simple; be kind to my patients and employees, keep my fees reasonable,
and provide state-of-the-art technical expertise. By following this philosophy,
I've built, and I continue to maintain, one of the largest solo Ophthalmology
practices in Denver.
My Experience as a
Refractive Surgeon....
I was one of the first Eye Surgeons in Denver to
perform Radial
Keratotomy (RK), starting in 1984. I performed
RK for less than a year, then stopped. I was probably the first
Eye Surgeon in Denver to stop performing RK. My results were good
but patients were only moderately satisfied with their visual outcome.
I did, however, maintain a large surgical practice, and I performed
thousands of cataract operations. In 1995, the FDA approved Laser
Vision Correction. I was one of the "pioneers" of Laser
Vision Correction in Denver, being one of the first Eye Surgeons
to perform an FDA-approved Laser Vision Correction procedure. I
have since performed thousands of LASIK procedures. 98% of the patients
I have treated are satisfied with their results; 99% of my patients
can drive a car without correction, and over 95% no longer wear
any correction for distance. In fact, within 24 hours after LASIK,
over 95% of patients can see to drive and return to work. LASIK
is very safe, highly precise and essentially painless. There are
no needles or sutures and no bleeding. Anesthesia is administered
by eye drops. Millions of LASIK procedures have been performed worldwide
with less than a 1% incidence of serious complications. There have
been no reported cases of blindness in any FDA Excimer Laser study.
LASIK, however, is not a perfect procedure and you need to have
a clear understanding of the potential and limitations of LASIK.
My purpose in presenting this website to you is help give you the
information necessary for you to decide if LASIK is for you and
how to
select your LASIK surgeon.
